Some organizatons have previously implemented a HMIS solution several years ago and are ready for software replacement.  Changing HMIS software is necessary when the software no longer meets your needs, is hopelessly outdated, is no longer supported by the vendor, the vendor has gone out of business, or many other reasons.

 

The costs of changing HMIS software can be significant.  New software licenses must be purchased.  A lot of data that must be converted from the old system to the new one.  In addition, all users must all be trained on the new solution.
